”Hang Kang Liu”, a contractor, was being sued for $500,000 for performing faulty tile work on a building. Mr. Liu believed that the fault was that of a sub contractor. Mr. Liu consulted Mr. Shelkin who was able to negotiate a settlement consistent with Mr. Liu’s culpability.
“Harry Woo,” a bus driver, received a speeding ticket for travelling 25 miles over the speed limit. Because of the nature of his job, Mr. Woo was concerned not only about a fine, but the possibility of points costing him his job, Mr. Woo consulted Scott Shelkin. Mr. Shelkin was able to convince the County lawyer that Mr. Woo’s clean driving history, and the circumstances of the stop, warranted that the case be pleaded down to a parking ticket.
“Jeff Dierksen”, a construction worker by trade, was having a problem with his Union. Mr. Dierksen’s divorce decree did not mention his pension, and his ex-wife refused to sign paperwork allowing the Union to give his full pension to him. Mr. Dierksen contacted Mr. Shelkin, who reviewed all of Mr. Dierksen’s divorce papers and located a pension waiver in the Court file, which allowed Mr. Dierksen to receive his pension.
